Faux Fur Obsessed

The Canfield Casino - it's gorgeous inside (and haunted)!

Sweater:  Gap  |  Leggings:  Gap  |  Faux Fur:  Nordstrom  |  Boots:  Sorel (similar) |  Bag:  Michael Kors  |  Fur Ear Muffs:  (purchased in Canada)  similar  |  Gloves:  gift from John while he was traveling in Scotland (their "knockoff" print looking Burberry if you want to consider that) Legit Burberry Gloves |  Lips:  Too Faced Melted  |  Hair Extensions:  Bellami

I hope everyone had a wonderful TG/Black Friday! ;)  Perhaps you're now going to embrace #ShopSmallSaturday in your area?!?!

We had a great TG on our end! The drive on the Taconic Parkway (which I usually avoid) was GORGEOUS!  The trees bowed over the road so it was as if I was driving through a winter tunnel - John slept the whole way of course so he missed it!  It was a great time at his aunt and uncle's house.  John's mother, Sandy, brother, Andrew and sister, Elizabeth were there and we met John (Elizabeth's boyfriend) - he was a sweetheart and they were so cute together!  I do wish we had a bit more time to visit or at least drive back to Southbury and spend the weekend.

Friday I enjoyed a relaxing morning (spin class was full), grabbed coffee with Daniella and went shopping at the Gap!  I'm so glad the sales already started prior to TG and continue through the weekend that way I don't feel as rushed!  After shopping we grabbed lunch & mimosas outside under the heat lamps at Druthers.  It was cozy with snow flurries flying all around us!  We had a great time!  As our food coma set in we headed our separate ways head home and veg out.

*John if you're reading this this is where you need to stop*

As I worked my way through Gilmore Girls on Netflix I shopped online with the gift list I had complied over the year for John.  I have our Anniversary (October 4), Christmas, Valentine's Day and John's Birthday (February 16) all in one half of a year to come up with some good ideas in the other half!  I NAILED IT with NY Giants ticket's for our first year (paper).

For Christmas I found a great table from Target (a friend - Laura had the exact same one that we brought to the NYC Ballet at SPAC over the summer).  I also found this one.  I couldn't decided so I did both! :oX.  I found a collapsible wagon from Target.  In case you're wondering why I have these "camp" style items...they are perfect for going to the Saratoga Race Track (and all other tailgating ideas in Saratoga - polo, symphony and the ballet)!

Stocking stuffers:  I've found a new Yankee hat (his was super old), binoculars (for when we go hiking and go to the ballet/symphony), a shaving kit and a cocoa mug!  I thought those were great/small gift ideas!

I'll leave the ideas that I still have in my back pocked for his birthday and Valentine's Day to share with you a bit later! :)

I hope you all did well with your gift shopping!

Vest Obsessed

Sweater:  French Connection  |  Jeans:  Banana Republic  |  Vest:  J. Crew  |  Boots:  Vince Camuto (3 years old - similiar)  |  Scarf:  TJ Maxx (similar)  |  Mug:  Starbucks  |  Hat:  Vince Camuto  |  Necklace:  Etsy  |  Watch:  Kate Spade (this one is on sale!)  |  Bracelets:  Lola Accessory Boutique

It's the day before Thanksgiving and I'm LOVING this weather (sorry rest of the US)!  I'm not flying home and dealing with the airport delays or cancellations.  YAY!  I worked a half day today and picked up my skis (which were ready early) Double YAY!  I plan on skiing alllll weekend so I was happy I was able to sneak in a few "shoots" with John...sooo some of the upcoming posts will be filled with flurries!

Tomorrow we're driving to Stamford for TG with John's side.  Actually, reverse that...I'm driving us to Stamford for TG with John's side.  John is on midnight shift so he'll need to rest on the way to/from.  This is difficult for me as being from the midwest, I'm pretty used to just going right to sleep in the car!  However, it looks like the weather will have passed at this point so it shouldn't be such a bad drive down in the morning.

I'm looking forward to being with family and friends and relaxing (oh and a yummy meal - sans the turkey).  We're in charge of Hatties cornbread - called, ordered and picked up! ;)  No really, I like making dishes to pass, but it was kind of perfect to do something easy especially with how it is outside!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving with their loved ones and are thankful everyday, not just tomorrow!  It's been a wonderful year of our first anniversary, a job promotion and starting this new blog!

Pink Obsessed

Pink Obsessed

1.  I'm super excited to receive the Sultra 1.5 Curling Wand in the mail soon!  I have been using a $30 curling iron, but it was losing heat.  Now, I've been using a great 1 inch curling iron from Amazon (BaByliss), but I don't care for the small "prom-like" curls it's been giving me.  I'm looking forward to getting the large beach-like waves again!  I'll keep you posted on how I like it!

2.  I have two pairs of the KS Earrings, but I'm loving this color pink!

3.  Looking for a BOLD pink lip?  Look no further than the Too Faced Melted collection.  They have alllll sorts of colors and I love my hot pink!

4.  The BB is great tool to blend your concealer and foundation!  I use mine all the time and I like that it adds a bit more moisture to your product while creating flawless coverage.

5.  Roman Holiday from Nars is definitely a WANT for me this season!  Such a cute trio!

6.  Beauty starts with your skin and how you treat it.  Adding the Carlisonic Skin Cleanser to your skin regimen will help keep your skin looking fresh and healthy!

My Go-To for On-the Go

Sweater:  TJ Maxx  |  Tunic:  Loft (similiar here)  |  Jeans:  Loft (old), but similar here  |  Shoes:  Franco Sarto  (found at TJ Maxx, but similiar here)  |  Bag:  Michael Kors  |  Necklaces:  J. Crew FactoryEtsy  |  Watch:  Kate Spade |  Tassel Bracelet:  Lola Accessory Boutique  |  Pave Bracelet:  Gorjana  |  Ring Trio:  Gorjana (found here)

So....here goes my first post!!!

I'm obsessed with tunics all year round!  This Loft button-down is great for work or lunch with the girls (as I did today! - Did someone say Malbec?!).  As for the long sweaters from TJ Maxx (I have one in black, cream and now grey), I always pack them for travel as they are great with skinnies or leggings.

*Thanks John for being the photographer!  ;)  We'll get better at it with time!
