happy hour on a boat

Jacket:  Nordstrom  |  Dress:  TJ Maxx (tons of colors here)  |  Necklace:  Jennifer Zeuner  |  Sunnies:  asos  |  Bag:  KS  |  Espadrilles:  Target (similar here)  |  Watch:  KS  |  Bracelets:  1/2/3

Nothing is easier than a shift dress and a blazer for work!  It's easy to go from work, travel, weekend or a date night with this look and I highly recommend it for a staple in your wardrobe.  Plus you can't go wrong with a classic navy dress.  I don't always feel that black is a slimming color on me as it washes me out sometimes (especially since I'm trying not to tan/sun burn any more).  However, I've found that either brown tones, but mostly navy tones work best as a slimming color, but does not wash me out at the same time!  It's great to play around with dark colors and see really what works best because everyone is different!

Happy Friday (I wanna say ya'll, but I'm not from the south)!!!  I'm REALLY looking forward to this weekend as work has been busy with new tasks, but at the same time a little slow with my usual work.  Plus it's my birthday weekend so I plan on celebrating Sunday straight through Tuesday! :)  BUT FIRST I'm headed out tonight to see a dear friend, Annah near our old stomping ground in Portsmouth NH!  I would relate it to a coastal Saratoga, with an earlier curfew!  Definitely a place to visit and enjoy.  Any who, I'm headed out there to shower her with love and gifts (and Lily, her dog too will get some lovin') as she and Denis are getting MARRIED!  FINALLY!  Annah and I became roommates in 2010ish I think and Denis and her had just started dating a bit before!  We became great friends really fast and I'm super excited to see them again, their newish home and meet everyone to celebrate these two!  It will be a great weekend had by all!
