morning workout

Dress:  Express (similar here)  |  Heels:  NW - love these  |  Sunnies:  Karen Walker  |  Earrings:  BR  |  Watch:  KS  |  Cuff:  Loren Hope  |  Bag:  Big Buddha  |  Necklace:  Purple Peridot

So this is just a simple number that I wore the other morning to the track, but I wanted to share more with you this week about the biggest event of the year for Saratoga!  TRAVERS... AND AMERICAN PHAROAH is coming Saturday so pretty much ALL of Saratoga is excited!  It's not just going to be a normal Travers weekend, but an even better since the tickets are ALL sold out!

My sister gets in Thursday and we're going to enjoy a yummy dinner at Hatties!  It's by far my favorite restaurant, for food and price, plus I'm a little biased because they catered our wedding!  Friday morning we're going to breakfast at the track (see above) and we will see AP warm up.  Breakfast at the track is an event - you can eat there (not so great) or bring your own breakfast sammie and coffee (wayyyy better).  It will be quite the event and I'm sure the track is going to be packed even then!  Friday evening we're going to enjoy a delicious patio dinner at 15 Church with everyone (SO excited).  Hopefully we'll have a low key night as we'll need to get up early Saturday to stake out some ground at the track.  Saturday will obviously be filled with Travers events, but it will definitely be worth seeing - especially since we missed the Kentucky Derby this year.  Sunday we'll grab some brunch at Lake Local, do some boating and attend polo that evening.  So it's a jam packed weekend!  Make sure you follow me on Instagram @closetsandcorks to keep up-to-date!

P.S. I still have no idea what I'm wearing to Travers! AH!

Blouse:  Lush (more colors too here!)  |  Jeans:  Banana Republic  |  Heels:  Nine West (similar here)  |  Clutch:  GiGi New York  |  Sunnies:  Ray-Ban  |  Bracelet:  Purple Peridot

So I kinda love this color combo, right?!!  I'm pretty sure I'm going to incorporate the coral and iris hue together for future outfits too.  It's pretty complimentary!  It's a simple look, but definitely updated with the colors!

Hey ya'll!  I'm allowed to say that now that I've been to Nashville, right!?  Well, last weekend I had fun celebrating with the bachelorette, Valerie, her 5 friends from school and our friend Laura, from Saratoga!  We had a great casual Thursday night out.  Friday we enjoyed a yummy brunch then hung pool side and circled back with a Mexican dinner followed by another night out.  Hey!  It was filled with line dancing and country songs!  Saturday was more casual, with two brunches (I'm not complaining) and a party barge, then some of the ladies topped it off with bull riding!  Check out @closetsandcorks for some valid proof!  :)  It was such a cool town - I loved every bit of it (and the country), I can't wait to go back and really explore TN again!  I highly recommend it and I highly recommend it for bachelorette parties too!  Hehe!

On a mission!

Too good...I did resist cheese fries!

My spa day really was wonderful...and yummy!

Dress:  Loft  |  Pin: (old)  |  Hat:  BR  |  Heels:  Nine West (similar here)  |  Bags:  Kate Spade/Big Buddha  |  Watch:  KS  |  Sunnies:  Karen Walker

FYI: I'm wearing a size Medium in this dress and it's still has room and swing!

This week we've had several out of town visitors, which calls for multiple get togethers!  We had a great turnout and BBQ at Bridget & Steve's house (see below - so many kiddddds)!!!

Our next event was a track day.  Not all of us could take off work, but a few of us wanted to pop over during our lunch and see everyone.  Unfortunately plans didn't pan out as well as we thought since some meetings came up and children had long luxurious naps (tradsies?!) so we decided to still keep our track meeting and hit up the Shake Shack (Hey!  It's only 6 weeks that we have one here right in town!).  It was so good (as you can see) that we had to bring orders back for some co-workers!   It's so good (and worth the $5 to get in) that I'm really looking forward to going again next week....perhaps?! :)

8 babies!!!!!!!!

This one is definitely picture frame worthy!

yearling sales

Dress:  Old (similar here and here)  |  Heels:  Nine West  |  Bag:  KS (similar here)  |  Sunnies:  Karen Walker  |  Necklace:  KS  |  Watch:  KS  |  Bracelet & Earrings:  Silverado (similar here)

John was excited to see Big Brown's offspring! :)

The horses are walked around the paddock prior to going in for auction.

Some potential buyers.
Many buyers would take a closer look at the 100+ horses that were to be auctioned last night.

The last time I was at a Saratoga Yearling Sale was two October's ago!  Right after we got engaged in September 2013 we were looking for a venue and stumbled into the sale while checking out Fasig Tipton!  We were able to sit right down and experience the whole auction!  Later on did we find out that the venue was about $15,000 just to rent for a reception (nothing included - pretty expensive that's for sure)!  That sale even was a quieter vibe as this sale brought in a lot of out of towners due to the already ongoing track season.  Last night we saw about 30 horses of the 100+ that were auctioned off and of the 30 we saw one sold for $950,000!  By the end of the night some of the yearlings were sold for $2.5M!!!!!  It was a great experience and I can't wait to hear about tonight's sales.  If you're in town you should check it out, but make sure to wear your wellies as it's been raining a good portion of today!

winedown winery

Dress:  asos - found on sale over the winter (love this)  |  Necklace:  Bauble Bar - found at Nordstrom on sale and with matching ear jackets!  |  Clutch:  Deux Lux (similar here)  |  Sunnies:  Celine  |  Earrings:  BR  |  Bracelet:  Silverado (similar here)

I have had this dress for months after I knew about this wedding's location!  It was then that I was on the hunt for the perfect dress!  I spotted this on asos and I couldn't wait to wear it.  Maxi dresses are perfect for weddings (I wore one at a San Diego wedding last year).  The location was breathtaking.   It was at a small winery in Sandown NH called Zorvino.  It was a gorgeous sunny day and right after the ceremony a summer shower passed through and left a beautiful rainbow and cotton candy skies!  It even helped it cool down a bit.  John loved the location as they had bocce ball too - too bad we didn't get to play though!  I didn't end up having much wine (we had to drive 4 hours home as guests were staying at our place and it was opening weekend at the track), I did get to enjoy a sip of their Malbec and a glass of their sparkling wine for toasts!  John and I definitely liked their Malbec and we'll have to be on the look out for purchasing it here in NY!  If you're ever in NH or going up the coast it may be fun to do some winery hopping. Hmm...I'm sensing a theme lately!
