I'm not dressing up for Halloween this year as my parents will be in town, so I rounded up a few fun pieces that I could still incorporate into a weekend look without being in costume!  I've heard of a pretty few creative outfits so far and I'm looking forward to hearing about the most popular ideas! :)

a walk in the park

Vest:  Eddie Bauer  |  Fleece:  Patagonia  |  Flannel: Volcom  |  Jeans:  Banana Republic (long version)  |  Socks:  Hunter  |  Boots:  Sperry  |  Sunnies:  Ray-Ban  |  Earrings:  Banana Republic  |  Watch:  Daniel Wellington

I've been wearing this fleece like crazy!  It's been great to also pair with the duck boots pictured or the other items  (I'm already crushing on another pair here).  John and I tried going to the pumpkin patch, but instead it was closed so we stopped by the state park on the sunny day to enjoy the outdoors!  It's been a ridiculous week at work and an even shorter evening at home.  I've tried to fit in a few dinners (our freezer is stocked btw) and even baked some muffins this week!  I'm ready to take a break on the home front in the kitchen...although I might have to wait until my after my parents visit next weekend.  Friday night we're headed to a nice dinner with friends and The Book of Mormon!!!  I've heard great things so I hope it's all that I expect!  Fingers crossed!

peak season

Poncho:  Loft Outlet (similar here)  |  Sweater:  Loft (similar here)  |  Scarf:  H&M (similar here)  |  Jeans:  Banana Republic  |  Sunnies:  Ray-Ban  |  Earrings:  Banana Republic  |  Rings:  Gorjana 1/2  |  Wellies:  Hunter  |  Nail Polish:  Essie (fishnet stockings)

It was a chilly fall weekend, but we got outside and explored.  We even saw a touch a snow this weekend!  Ekk!  Ponchos are my next go-to when I can't wear a vest.  I get to layer with sweaters, scarves and hats to create more warmth.  They are easy to toss on and not have to deal with when it comes to a bulky jacket...especially when you're not ready to bust out the winter wear quite yet!  As I'd like to wait a smidge longer! ;)

Jumpsuit:  Loft  |  Trench:  Banana Republic  |  Flats:  Halogen  |  Bag:  Michael Kors  |  Sunnies:  Prada  |  Necklace:  Bauble Bar  |  Nail Polish:  Essie Fishnet Stockings  |  Lip:  Burt's Bees Sedona Sands  |  Rings:  Gorjana 1/2  |  Earrings:  Banana Republic  |  Watch:  Kate Spade

I love this jumpsuit.  It can be super casual or even dressed up for a wedding.  I tend to wear mine to work pretty often.  It's effortlessly chic!  The one drawback is using the restroom during the day.  No bueno.  It's been a warm couple of days (minus one rainy day), so I was glad to fit this look in for the week.  I'm hoping the warm weather continues on through the week.

fall boot favs

fall boot favs

1.  Vince Camuto  |  2.  Dolce Vita  |  3.  Ivanka Trump  |  4.  Vince Camuto  | 5.  Hunter  |  6. Seychelles  |  7.  SOREL  |  8.  UGG  |  9.  Sperry

(1) I've been searching for a pair of over the knee boots and I'm hoping this work out.  (2) I'm also loving open toe booties for the transition from spring all the way to fall.  I just wish that these came in my size!  I'll have to keep searching.  (3) As for a black pair - that's my main goal to find this season.  I literally was just about to purchase a pair and unfortunately my size sold out!  UGH!  (4) I loved them in black in the fourth style too!  (5, 7, 9) You can never go wrong with a pair of colorful wellies and duck boots - I'm totally pumped to bring all my rain gear to Ireland next month!  (6) Fringe seems to be all the rage this season.  Although I do like some of the looks I'm not completely on the bandwagon, yet.  (8) Last but not least, the comfy, snuggly and easy to throw on pair of UGGS.  I love bringing these with me to spin class so I can slip my spin shoes off and throw those on to trudge through the winter slush!

Tonight I treated myself to a nice glass of wine, popcorn and snuggled in with a Netflix movie.  I had been craving some popcorn for weeks and my sister actually sent me a picture of her popcorn the other day, so I couldn't resist picking up some!  I sprinkled a little lime juice on my popcorn for a bit of kick.  I actually prefer to make popcorn on the stove, but John was resting for his midnight shift at work so I couldn't be too loud!  This did do the trick for my craving and they even changed the packaging which was much more convenient and you didn't have to dirty a bowl!  John and I like to keep a Black Box on hand in the house as it's a great table wine.  It works out well for our various dinner creations during the week when we'd like to have a glass here or there.  It's even better as it keeps the wine fresh fresh (it holds four bottles), it's great for large gatherings and it's roughly $25-$30 a box, definitely a budget friendly wine for sure!  Hey you can't be fancy all the time! ;)

This day will forever be one of the most amazing days of my life.  It's so wonderful to look back on these photos and remember all the emotions that were running through me that day all while still trying to hold onto every little memory.  I wasn't sure about sharing all of this with you, but since I share my life with you all everyday, it is only right to share our wedding day here at Closets & Corks!  So, here's to year three!
Here's our highlight video we had done as well.  It's such a beautiful short film!
