versatile dress

Dress:  asos  |  Heels:  Nine West  |  Clutch:  GiGi New York  |  Earrings:  Loren Hope  |  Watch:  Kate Spade

A new maternity/nursing dress, a not-so-needed Spanx (since they do nothing right now) and a darker, more natural do for the fall season.  I grabbed this a while back, not realizing it was maternity/or nursing, but loved the print and the touch of color.  It also kinda reminds me of Saved by the Bell!  I've been very pleased with the style and the way it works pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and post-pregnancy.

As you know I go to Jaysie at Hair Creations in Saratoga.  I ended up booking with Jaysie's amazing stylist, Chelsea.  She has a great eye for detail and has been trained very well.  Although I don't want to leave Jaysie completely, it'd definitely be an option for the future if I don't plan my haircuts out in advanced (and she's always scheduled out)!  She took off a lot of weight in my hair (which I hadn't had a cut for 6 or so months), but kept the length, and added some face framing layers and a little bit of layers throughout.  For the color she lessened the current balayage by adding in my natural color and toned the remaining balayage down to not appear as harsh.  I apologize if I'm totally butchering the terminology, but I hope I explained it clear enough!  It was exactly what I was looking for.  Not being super summery, but not wiping away my blondish locks completely.

shrugging off this monday

Sweater Shrug:  Gap  |  Sweater:  French Connection (similar here)  |  Denim:  Banana Republic  |  Flats:  Michael Kors  |  Watch:  Kate Spade  |  Bag:  Henri Bendel  |  Earrings:  Loren Hope/Amazon  |  Sunglasses:  Ray-Ban

John and I had a filled weekend of home items along with exploring fun.  We knocked off a few go-to things we do each fall, but adding some new items on our list that we'll have to do again next year.  One thing we did try to do was rescue a puppy, but unfortunately it was not in the cards (again) this weekend.  Better luck next weekend.  I know it was a bit steamy this weekend, and I'm 100% looking forward to more fall weather, but I shot this right before the heat wave came back through.  I found this shrug at Gap and I thought it'd be a great item to transition into fall/winter and then winter/spring.  This'll also be perfect because I'm such a warm person in the winter anyways, that it'll be great to toss on if I get chilled or perfect from going to and from my car.  I also see this as a great item to go shopping in.  It's always WAY too hot in the stores to be carrying or wearing a bulky coat.  We'll that's my thinking anyways...we'll see how these seasons go!

Blazer:  Banana Republic (tweed one here/pink one here)  |  Dress:  Gap  |  Bag:  Henri Bendel  |  Watch:  Kate Spade  |  Loafers:  asos  |  Necklace:  Jennifer Zeuner  |  Sunnies:  Ray-Ban

When the pants don't fit very well (see last post).  I swap out a loose dress and tailor it with a jacket or blazer.  This Gap dress is knitted so it's a bit thicker and would be great for under a sweater and paired with booties.  I've just ordered a shorter heel bootie that I'm hoping will fit and be perfect for chasing after a little one.

Things I've also picked up lately...or dying to.

Cetaphil Night Cream - whatever was happening with my skin the past four months, this is saving me.  It's taking a bit, but I apply it for the night and sometimes during the day.

Scarf - I found this because I figured my coats reaaaaalllly won't be fitting this winter so I might have to cover up one way or the other.

Mirror - I've been searching for two mirrors to go behind our nightstands (still need to find him a nightstand too), but I've been drawn toward the inlay furniture.  It's delicate and sweet.

transition sweaters

Sweater:  Gap  |  Denim:  Banana Republic (barely fits!)  |  Necklace:  Gorjana  |  Bag:  Serpui (similar here)  |  Sandals:  Tory Burch  |  Sunglasses:  Ray-Ban  |  Earrings:  Amazon  |  Lipgloss:  Sugar  |  Bracelet Stack:  Banana Republic (love this)

Sweater:  Loft  |  Denim:  Banana Republic (my stretchy pair)  |  Sandals:  Nine West  |  Bag:  Michael Kors  |  Earrings:  Bauble Bar  |  Sunnies:  Ray-Ban  |  Bracelets:  Banana Republic (stack here)

I'm on the tail end of many of my clothes so I'm looking forward to the fall transition.  There was a touch of it here, but quickly it turned back to 70's/80's for the past two weeks, so I'm back to the summer gear which isn't working out as well.  I had been so good before getting pregnant...dropping a few lbs, but the fatigue and lack of prepping foods had probably set me right back to where I was.  Things just aren't sitting right (especially with that top button on my pants).  Fitted, structure and non-stretchy material are heading out the door here pretty quickly and I'm trying to make some small adjustments so I don't need all new clothes until I really pop.  I've been leaning toward flowy blouses, stretchy sweaters and jackets/scarves to layer (and pretty much the same 5 outfits for work every week).  I guess you could say I'm in my bit of a bloated preggo stage.  At this point I will say I'm looking forward to having a tummy that actually gets me out of this funky stage, but for now it's finding those items that are comfortable, stretchy and easy for work and home.

So these aren't the most glamorous photos, but it's what I received on my phone after getting microbladed twice.  Plus my phone has been super finicky so I was glad to even have them saved on my phone.  I went to Nadine's Permanent Makeup.  I had literally followed her for 6 plus months before making the decision to get my brows done, plus it took me about another 3 to get in.  I'd have to say.

Any-who, these pictures are a bit off so I apologize...I didn't even know she was getting my whole face other wise I would have looked a little more happy!  Before treatment Nadine had some guidelines to follow, but I made sure not to wax or pluck weeks before so she could see my natural brow.  The first image, with the first row being my before pictures really shows how light and undefined my brows were.  The next four pictures are after the first session.  On the second image you'll see the 6 weeks later heeled brows and then a retouch.  Finally, you'll see in the last image (after work and the gym -skin has been horrible during pregnancy FYI), the current brows!  I love them!  I barely fill them I've been so pleased with my results.  It's a bit pricey, but I'd rather have them done right and naturally which makes it worth it.  I'm not spending time on them when I get ready AT ALL.  I literally do a bit of concealer, blush and mascara and roll to work.  On weekends I'll fill them in a tad, but it's like only 30 seconds that I actually spend on them rather than the 5 minutes pre-microblading.  Long story short, I'd definitely recommend getting microbladed.
