happy hour

Coat:  J.Crew  |  Denim:  Banana Republic  |  Kicks:  Target (more expensive here)  |  Scarf:  Vince Camuto  |  Stroller:  Uppababy

Happy hours are looking a bit different these days.  They usually entail a stroller, walk and a cocktail.  We have been able to get out as a family in town for drinks.  I've also had a few happy hours with Liam and friends.  For now I'll have to keep reminiscing about the warm patio drinks on Broadway, as we're back to the dreary days and the various layers.  I'm always wearing a light sweater, scarf (for various reasons - spit up, warmth and coverage) and a coat or jacket depending on how chilly or windy it is.  I'm at least getting a few things done inside like swapping out closets, cleaning out our basement.  Getting things accomplished.

side split

Jacket:  J.Crew  |  Sweater:  asos  |  Tank:  Target  |  Sunnies:  Le Specs  |  Shoes:  asos  |  Denim:  Gap  |  Necklace:  Gorjana  |  Ring:  Gorjana  |  Earrings:  Amazon/Lola Saratoga

Nursing sweaters/tops just aren't cute and everything is GREY!  Luckily I found this one in a springtime lavender color.  It works with nursing tanks very well.  I may not find many nursing tops like this, but I'll keep my eye out for those other sweaters in general that may open on the side and give a little room for nursing.  I wore this one quiet frequently recently to Lake George, Easter brunch and other outings, but for the love of me, still only found time to take photos in my hood...go figure.  Just living in the moment I guess and just trying to find tops that work for nursing!

strolling style

Sweater:  Gap  |  Leggings:  Gap  |  Vest:  J.Crew  |  Sunnies:  Le Specs  |  Kicks:  Nike (similar here)  Stroller:  Uppababy  |  Tumbler:  Yeti  |

Just like shopping for maternity clothes before, shopping for nursing items is just about as fun.  I'm not back to my size in pants or less, which is fine, that's not the issue as it has only been about 4 weeks, but HOLY COW, thinking of tops to wear or finding tops to wear now is even more difficult.  Obviously primarily due to nursing.  I've scoped out some comfortable easy to wash sweaters and add the nursing tanks or nursing bras underneath.  I'm currently adding sweaters with open side slits and button downs.  Bring on the layers!

I've been trying to walk a bit everyday since we got out to the hospital.  I'm now at the point where I know I can comfortably walk downtown (a mile there and back) and perhaps even further... I just haven't made it with timing.  I plan on starting workouts next week, a bit early from being "cleared," but I feel great and I'm listening to my body!  If I'm not walking I'm trying to get out and about with errands or appointments and sometimes can't fit our walks into the schedule, but soon enough we will be able to do both I'm sure!  The stroller has worked out great so far.  We are still getting the hang of  using the various attachments, but I can't say a bad thing about it!  More details/reviews to come!
